Clean Air

OceanWay will have the world's cleanest ships. They will be 100 percent powered by clean-burning natural gas, resulting in such low air emissions that they will more than meet South Coast Air Quality Management District's strict emission guidelines

Low Emission Natural Gas Turbines - to power OceanWay ships, natural gas turbines will be powered entirely by clean-burning natural gas, which eliminates dirty diesel fuel and significantly minimizes nitrous oxides and particulate matter.

EMx Catalyst - the emission reduction systems fitted to the gas turbines are considered Lowest Achievable Emissions Rate by South Coast Air Quality Management District, which is the best rating for such equipment. EMx catalysts are cleaner than standard SCR systems typically used on natural gas power plants and help keep emission levels to an absolute minimum.

Woodside Hybrid Air Vaporization - for regasification, OceanWay ships will use a warm renewable source - the ocean air - to convert the cargo. Using the ocean air avoids engulfing billions of tons of seawater and eliminates the need to burn fuel to act as the heat source. Combined with the ship's waste heat recovery system, the OceanWay ships will be able to use air 100 percent of the time.
